Hi, Customer complains of loud (whirring) noise whilst on wash cycle. Never made any noise when I was testing it for approx 20 minutes. Have fitted new heat pump as process of elimination but noise has persisted. Can only think of the alternator water distributor. Has anyone come across this fault?

Depends if it is a continuous noise or an intermittent ‘groaning’ noise . I.E occurs every 2 minutes. I’ve yet to change a diverter for noise. However , the top spay arm system can ‘groan’ every couple of minutes for a few seconds as the flow changes between spray arms. It’s caused by the connection of the top spray arm at the rear letting air out……a bit like the neck of a balloon. It can also be caused by the top basket being wonky. Normally , with this noise , replacing the top spray arm system works.

    Thanks for the help.
The noise is apparently fairly constant once it starts. Customer put his phone up to it and the noise did sound constant and LOUD. I’ll re-visit and disconnect the divertor motor and see what occurs.
