    Hi there,

The washing machine drum begins to turn at the beginning of the wash cycle (or spin cycle) and very quickly spins fast and then shuts down after <2 seconds. It fills and drains fine.

I changed the brushes as they were heavily worn, thinking that this would fix the problem, but the same thing happens.

I entered test mode and at the point where the drum should turn slowly the same thing occurred – quickly started spinning fast and then shut down immediately.

If anyone has any ideas as to what’s causing this I’d be very grateful to hear them as I really don’t want to have to buy a new machine.

    Many thanks,

    Sebastian.

there is a magnet at the back of the motor that turns inside a coil to generate a small voltage. this voltage is fed to the module to detect the motor speed. if this circiut is not working then the fault you have will occur. it is most likely a broken magnet but may also be a broken wire in this circuit.
bad news is if the magnet has broken its part of the motor
