Any help on this ,I attended this fridge freezer to find the evap fan not running , only 24 v to fan motor ,I have by passed evap trip and door switch and fitted new p c b but the problem still persists any pointers on this thanks Cras
Is that one of those motors that has the stator completely covered in plastic ?
Doesn`t even look like a motor apart from the fact there is a fan stuck on the end of a steel shaft?
Has a twinned plug assy (rather than normal L/N supply)
If so I do not remember them being much more than 24V dc motors so supply is good and motor is faulty
From my experience on these, the evaporator fan fails very rarely. But when it does it will take down the jazz board (pcb) mounted in the top of the fridge. You can usually see signs of melting around the coils on the fan. Change the fan motor first, if not it will soon take out the new pcb. Been there and done that….
I’ve had the evap fan motor going almost short on these and then frying the board by taking too much power.
I’d be checking the resistance of the fan and I’m sure that will show you the issue.
