Bosch SHP65T52UC/07 display stuck, won’t start

Hello all interested,
The dish washer works great, but this problem has come up a few times, and I have gotten past it each time up until now by some series of button-presses.
The problem is that the display will only flash the”auto” button, 2:30 on the display, and the”sanitize” button. It will not respond to regular button presses – only 2 different presses: On/off will turn it on and off; and holding any button, besides start, while it is off and then pressing “on/off” will display “P0” , and the “express” button will stay lit, while the “rinse” button will blink – and it will stay this way after the door is closed.
The action that causes this problem is selecting a cycle and closing the door without first pressing the start button.

P.S. a hard reset doesn’t work ( unplugging the machine for 15 min), and neither does the reset feature (holding the start button for 3 sec.)
