The circulation pump on our Hotpoint DWT10 dishwasher only operates intermittently. Mostly it fills with water and the circulation pump should start immediately. Instead the drain pump starts and pumps all the water out again very quickly. We get error lights 3 and 5 flashing which normally means blocked filter but it is sparkling clean, even washed in hot water to remove any grease. Now and again the circulation pump operates correctly, maybe 1 in 10 refills. Is there a sensor somewhere which incorrectly says that the filter is blocked? If so where is it?

The same error will flash if the circulation pump fails, not uncommon on Indesit dishwashers. 🙁

Thanks iadom, help appreciated, but when the pump does work, now and again, there is no problem, it runs perfectly. I think there must be a sensor somewhere which nearly always incorrectly prevents the pump running and gives error codes for a blocked filter, but maybe the sensor is faulty?

The pressure sensor is situated between one of the pump outlet hoses and the lower spray arm. Never had to change one though.
