    Hi all,

    I am hoping that somebody would please be able to offer me some guidance. I have a hotpoint Aquarius WDL520G washer dryer, and the drum has stopped turning when the machine is in use, rendering it useless. The cycles run through fine like they normally would, but as the drum won’t turn the clothes just sit at the bottom and come out soaking wet. The drum itself can turn – when the door is open I can out my hand in and turn it so it isn’t stuck, if anything it feels like it turns easier than it used to like this – like there isn’t any resistance.

    Any ideas what this could be? From googling (not always a good thing!) I think it might be the belt? If so, if it has fallen off so I just put it back on or will it need a new one?

    More likely to be worn motor carbon brushes, don’t have access to my main PC. right now to double check but off the top of my head I think this machine does have a brush gear motor and not a 3 phase motor.
