Hi, I have a customer with a Miele W865. When spin is selected the rinse light flashes. I replaced the carbon brushes one of which was well worn the other still with life left on it. Tried selecting spin again with same results, rinse light flashing. Is there a reset for this machine or would I be right in condemning the control module? Regards Taff
if no prob the reversing relay its a common fault which also blows the fuse .
fuse is a small red or black cylinder approx 1cm high soldered into the board
rinse light flashing is a no motor action detected fault. No re set for it as it means fault still exists. Its easy to re fit the motor brush module with the pins out of line with the contacts on the field coils so check with a meter for readings between the pins: 2 for the armature, 3 for the fields, 2 for the toc, and 2 for the tacho. If no reading on the fields then you may have not lined the pins up. If all ok down there then its the power pcb clipped to the back of the facia. some threads on here about repairing them but never done one myself.
I sent the board for repair using EBay £28 with a quick turn around. The fuse and relay were replaced. Advised to replace shock absorbers as vibration causes the failure. It seems that this is a common problem on Miele over 10 years old.
