I have a fagor double oven which is still in warranty, however, I believe the company dealing with warranties and Fagor themselves went into administration?
    My warranty is registered.
It has a fault and the repair man came and apparently I need two new circuits boards.
That is if they can obtain the spare parts.

If they cannot fix it what are my rights. I have been told that the company that sold me the oven are responsible and should replace my oven as its still in warranty.
    Looking for advise on this

    Thanks

    HI Lee,

If it’s a manufacturer warranty that was supplied “free” with the product and the manufacturer is no longer trading then the responsibility that the retailer has is essentially nothing in practice unless that is, that you can prove that the oven was faulty from new.

If you can prove that there was a fault from new then you may have some claim but do keep in mind that it would take into account depreciation and recession therefore any amount you could hope to get is likely to be very small. To be honest most people would probably find it insulting.

Just as happened when the likes of Rover went bust, resale values take a tanking and, they are never great to begin with when it comes to appliances.

My advice would be to save yourself a lot of hassle and not pursue it, see if the retailer will offer a discount on a replacement or something as a goodwill gesture as that’s probably about what you’d get back anyway.

Thanks for that info. I will wait and see if they can get the spare parts for the oven and if not prob just buy new one. Thanks for your help
