ParticipantI’m pulling my hair out on this one. The door lock refuses to lock. When a program is selected the door clicks several times and Error code E40 is illuminated. I have changed the door lock. checked all connections on the lock itself and the control module. I have sent the module for test at EMW and no faults found. Motor brushes are fine and I have carried out an insulation test. Any ideas would be much appreciated. 👿

Latch pin not fully engaged through centre of door hook/catch??
This is not visible or obvious generally and you need to open up door to check it -it’ll be in on one side but not exiting through to the other IF FAULTY so you will know!!
Would EMW have a test for that specific door function? Did you explain ?
Did you fit a genuine or generic interlock btwJanuary 17, 2016 at 12:39 pm #434534Taff543489

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did explain the full fault as I always supply a letter explaining all the symptoms. It was a genuine door lock, two fitted. I had another look today at this one. If the door lock is removed and still wired up, hanging loose past the door seal even when just switched on the door lock just clicks without even pressing the start button after the program is selected.

Have you ran the diagnostics to see what fault code you get?

You can’t access diagnostics when it’s a door lock error.
It is a 4 terminal solenoid type door lock on this so the lock will “click” anyway as that is the solenoid being activated. It doesn’t confirm the circuit is complete. You might want to engage the lock manually as Melec suggested. It could just be the connecting lead between the interlock and module that the fault lies.
