Hi we have a hotpoint FF 200L if we defrost it the fridge works fine for a while then over a couple of weeks the temp climbs until it stops working all together.
We have defrosted it twice for 2 or 3 days and the same thing happens. The freezer works fine
If we put on super cool on the fridge it makes all the right noises but has no affect.
Seems a shame to throw it as the freezer is ok but wasting space with out the fridge part
    Thank you for any pointers

    Hi

I would say its either the defrost (evaporator) sensor or the defrost heater or thermal fuse.

took the back off as I read few people have big chunks of ice and maybe it hadn’t had time to defrost but not much too see

You would have to remove the second panel as well.
This panel has the fan attached to it.

Make sure you turn the power off at the mains and unplug it as I notice from the picture you still have it running.

On your model it is more likely the heater or defrost sensor at fault.

Not a DIY job if you are not used to working on fridge / freezers
