ParticipantI went to look at this machine as the door would not lock on checking the pcb I found tracking on the left hand side of the board had blown, so I soldered in new tracking and replaced the door lock. On testing the machine locked the door and started good I thought, but now then the door would not unlock, so I thought damage to pcb and ordered a new one, On fitting the board today it is still the same where the door locks goes through the programme and shows END but the door will not unlock, If I prize the lock away to open the door and refit it the door will be unlocked, but it just will not un lock its self. I have made sure that all the connections are correct and tight but I am stuck. Can someone please help.
Many Thanks

Hi Bryan and Dave
Thanks for your reply’s. I have changed the door lock and pcb still the same and if I remove the plug it still will not unlock the door the only way to open the door is to twist the lock away from inside and then open the door which will stay unlocked until you start a programme. I am really stuck on this one as I have put a megger on it so no earth fault. any help appreciated

what sort of lock is it ?
is the thermal type that takes 3 mins to unlock
or the instant type that goes clunk clunk and opens

After pulling my hair out with this one it has had a new PCB and two new thermal type door interlocks it still refused to unlock. After testing everything I decided to try a third interlock and hey presto it unlocked, This means that two brand new interlocks are faulty and will not unlock I tried to take one of the covers off and when I loosened the yellow cover I heard the latch unlock which means that they must be sticking inside. Is this a batch problem or are all hoover door locks rubbish. Andy

would not surprise me. there is a move in the world to get everything made in china. all very well if quality control was there , but its not
getting to the point now where I don’t trust pattern parts nor do I fully trust the gen ones either
