    Afternoon all ……… New to the forum, so hello to you.

    Here’s an interesting one …..
    I have a Liebherr KSPv 3660 frost free fridge, bought new in 2003.
    I noticed the other day that the contents of the fridge were slightly warmer than they should be, so after a bit of investigative work, I found that the thermostat had failed. 🙁
    Doing the logical thing, I went on-line and ordered a new original thermostat (Ranco K57 L5818).

    In the meantime, I bypassed the thermostat and set up a plug in timer, so the fridge now runs for 15 minutes on and 75 minutes off. This nicely maintains the fridge at around 5 – 6 degC. 😀

    Upon receiving the replacement stat, I noticed that it was different from the one fitted to the fridge. 🙁
    Looking through my records ( I remembered that I had it repaired back in 2009) I noted that the stat had also failed at that time as well, but instead of replacing the stat with an original, the repair tech had fitted a Danfoss 077B0816L stat.
    In doing so, he also re-configured the wiring, as the Danfoss only has 2 connections, whereas the Ranco has 3 connections. 😕

    So ………… Apart from HELP !!!
    Does anyone please have a wiring diagram of the 3660, to allow me to re-configure the wiring, back to how it should be?
    The model 3660 has the usual wiring for the compressor (brown live and a black switched live (from the stat)), plus wiring (2 core only) for the internal light and the door switch, also wiring (again 2 core) for the ventilator switch, which I assume not only switches the fan on, but also kicks the compressor in as well …….. I think.

    Any help would be massively appreciated.

    Edit …….. I’ve just noticed that wiring diagrams and service manuals are not allowed to be distributed, so I could well be stuck on this one.
    Hmmmmmmm Where to go from here?

    OK, can we attack this from a different angle.
    Is anyone able to help me with the function of each of the 3 terminals on the Ranco K57 L5818 thermostat? They are labelled 3, 4 and 6.

    One will be the feed and one will be the switched live out.
    I then have the fridge cabinet light and associated switch, which will require a constant live.
    Finally There’s the ventilator switch ………

    Hello Tony, your Ranco stat will switch the compressor on between 6 and 4. So live in at 6 and down to the compressor from 4.
    3 will be the feed to your light.
    The fan will run in series with the compressor.
    The Danfoss ones normally switch between 3 and 4.

    Thank you for the assistance ELDAR59 😀

    I’ll crack on with that this morning. SHMBO will be so pleased, as the fridge is sticking out in the room at the moment, because of the timer switch access which is controlling the fridge.

    Regarding the ventilator fan switch, if it’s in series to the compressor, will it only be able to run when the compressor is powered up via the stat, or should it run the compressor when switched on 😕

    Hi Tony, it should run when the compressor is on via the stat. If you give me the service number of the appliance then I could check the wiring diagram to be sure.

    Thanks for the quick reply ELDAR59,
    The service Number is: 9914604-03

    Thinking about it in a logical fashion, if a lot of ‘room temperature’ food was loaded into the fridge, the stat would automatically pick up the rise in temperature and kick in the compressor.
    The function of the ventilator fan, would simply be to ‘assist’ with the distribution of chilled air, therefore cooling the fridge contents more efficiently ………. Sorted.

    Yes; if you wouldn’t mind checking your wiring diagram for me please ELDAR59, I’d really appreciate it.

    Sorry for the delay in replying 😳
    The Fridge now has it’s correct thermostat fitted and is working perfectly.

    Thanks for your help ELDAR59, I couldn’t have done it without that assistance.
