I have a rangemaster rdw6012fi/sf dishwasher that won’t turn on, had blown circuit breaker before during cycle the odd time but will not turn on at all now. Also it sometimes didn’t dissolve tablets right either.

Stripped it down and found the circuit board has overheated around the ntc sensor and flow meter plugs……I have tested the thermistor and it appears to be working.

What other things would cause the thermistor to overheat the circuit board or could it be flow meter?

    Thanks for any help.

this worries me a bit as there is not enough power flowing through a thermistor or a flow meter to overheat ever

So do you have any ideas on what I can check? Obviously must be a reason why the circuit board was black around these 2 plugs. I don’t want to buy another circuit board and then the same thing happen 2 days later. Thanks

Hi, update on this. I traced the burn marks on the pcb to 3 wires that were partially stripped where the door hinges and they had been shorting out. So I fixed this and ordered a new pcb which arrived today, so that is installed and the dishwasher is going through a cycle as we speak.

One problem though the LCD screen is not lighting up now, all buttons work and if you remember how many clicks it is to get a specific cycle it will work but none of the on/off lights are working or the LCD screen doesn’t light up…….any ideas on this?

apart from its probably blown that board as well no idea

one of the problems with electronics is they hate surges and wires shorting out. it can pop chips a lot faster than any fuse can blow
