Hello. Got a brand new beko dcy 9613 9kg dryer. Removed packaging. Instructions inside drum. On top of the machine it states do not start machine until you have removed bag inside which has the transport locks in etc… Grasp the bag and pull out to remove. That would be good if I could get inside. Tried for many hours to open. It doesn’t have s handle it is some what integrated into the door. Tried finding /pulling the handle around the door nothing. On both sides of the door it has a mechanical lock with a switch/instrument to show what the lock is in. Both of them are in the lock position: how to I open it! It’s brand new. I can’t switch it on obviously but I did plug it in do that the screen would come on. There are no lock screens or nothing and the program is ready to start!!! Help me please. Am I missing something.

    Hi

Assuming your model is the DCY9316 😉 it has an electronic door lock. Looking at the picture using the magnifier from this link the dryer has a lock on it.

Is the padlock symbol lit? If it is you need to disable it by pressing the ending in and the alarm symbol together to disable it.

That aside it’s back to the retailer!!

Many thanks for the quick reply. Can’t attach pics due to the size. Thought it might be back to the retailer. Great. Bought online from coop. First tumble dryer on 20 years….. Got the washer that’s fantastic. 12kg fast washes ultra silent. Spent £760 and it door won’t open. Switches on OK, wonder if I can manually move the switch on both side of the lock to free it? Will try an upload a vid today to ou tube with a link….

Padlock simple not lit. But you can make it light up by doing the above procedure. When it is lot there are no noises to hear that a lock is engadging. Then againe to make padlock disappear nothing. What do I do ring beko engineear? or coop to replace it?

I would go back to CO-OP in the first instance and request exchange as it’s faulty on first use.

Rang coop. Explained it to them. No problem, send me a new one on Wednesday and pick old one up at the same time. No questions ask. Very good customer service. It just a shame they use Barry and rubble couriers who come in a rusty 58 sprinter who set off at 5 am from Barnsley. Have dropped 8 items of before me and I am in Cumbria and got my 2 applices at 11am. And they still had more to do. Instead of using trolliesthey “carried” them. With the tumble dryer being light it probably rolled around in. The van. Damaging the lock somehow? It’s weird how the lock is stuck in “lock” though, don’t see how damaging could do that. But anyway at least its getting sorted. Very big thank you to DON with your very SPEEDY reply. Thank you very much, what a great forum this is.

Glad you have got it sorted 😀

A lot of us prefer to “carry” as it’s safer than “bumping” when using trucks. Let us know when it’s all sorted and up and running, it will finish the thread off.
