ParticipantHi all,
Looking to the forum for help again after many successful domestic repairs!
My washing machine interlock (1992 Zanussi FL1023) looks like this:
Which I have found is a Bitron BPP/5 but cannot find it for sale anywhere.
I’ve looked at loads of spares sites and all the sites show a part that looks like this for an FL1023:
Could it fit? It only mounts by 2 crews after all. Is it just a universal replacement ? – I know I will lose the holder for the little light…
Any advice appreciated.

THIS ONE should be what you need.
It fits many more models than listed there.

That was really quick, thank you gentlemen.
After taking it out to check the number of pins I thought I might as well investigate the problem further. SWMBO has to slap the front of the machine to get it to start once the door is shut and sheβs waited 10 seconds. This was verified with the interlock in my hand and gentle taps. So I stripped it down and the contacts inside were blackened and pitted. I cleaned them up with fine emery paper, reassembled, tested, adjusted the little grub screw for the bimetallic strip. Put back in the machine and all is well β working like new ?.
When (not βifβ) it goes again I will purchase a 4 pin from the link you have so kindly provided.24 years and still she goes on! (the machine β not the wife!)
Thank you again

For the cost of a new interlock I would strongly advise you to change it now. A common fault on old interlocks can lead to them shorting across internally. This always leads to expensive damage elsewhere.

It won’t in this case Jim. It has the old mechanical ‘bomb proof’ timer.

Once had one that welded the timer contacts together.

Have to agree. Had one take the timer out many moons ago

Yeah, right :rolls: You’ll have to explain one day how that could ever be possible?
