Hi, i did search for this but the search ignored “hotpoint” so i had over 2300 results.
i have now about 6 hpt washers that all click (five, six times) when you press start. some are brushs motors and some aren’t.
a ex hpt friend said it’s a relay on the board, is this correct? can they be tested in place or would it be recommened to remove first?

    thanks all.

Just as well then you didn’t search ‘Hotpoint vibrates’ as that too would ignore Hotpoint and you’d get over 4m invites to porno sites and sex toys.

    But I digress 😉

Most Hotpoint’s would at least give some form of error code, after the clicking stops, so you’d have more to go on than that. A relay that clicks most likely still works OK.

had quite a few polish built hotpoints with the instant door locks that click on start of prog, 5/8 were worn brushes one was door lock. one a working but impaired pump and the other customer didnt want to attempt a emw repair, after trying brushes and door lock. presuming pcb for that one as pump was clear.
