    Hi all,
We have a Candy Grand Plus, model number GOFS272/L-80 washing machine.
The drum won’t spin properly, I noticed that although the motor was running on spin cycle, the clothing wasn’t moving. On closer inspection the drum wasn’t spinning.
I emptied it and started a cycle with no load in it. The drum started to spin, so, thinking that there had been too much clothing in it, I reloaded it with a smaller amount and started a wash cycle again. This time it filled with water ( seemed to fill with more water than usual though ), the motor started to run and the clothes and drum moved by about half an inch then stopped, the motor was still running though. It’s almost as though any load is to heavy for the drum to move but there was only about a dozen items in it. ( there wasn’t that much in it to start with though )
A any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

it is impossible for the motor to run and the drum not to turn. if it did you would burn out the belt
so I think you can hear the pump motor but the main motor does not start

first thing to look at in this situation is motor brushes

Thanks Dave, I’ll check the brushes first and go from there
