    I’m about to replace the main oven thermostat in a Smeg UK62MFX5 s/n 51019-0779-0 Type C6V2xx and have removed the control panel facing but that doesn’t provide access to the electrics. The gas hob needs to be raised, but that doesn’t look simple – does anyone have any pointers about how to do that without damaging the cooker? Many thanks, Rob

    Take the side panel off
