ParticipantHi,
The Cannon Camberley has a glass lid to the hob, which should be spring assisted to lift but no longer does so. The LH spring, although not broken, appears to have lost much of its springiness. The LH hinge happens to be the one associated with the lid cut-off valve, which is depressed by the spring mounting lug.
I have not found a listing for these springs, nor an exploded diagram showing them. Does anyone know if the parts are available? Will they be simple to fit? The hinge bolts seem awkward to get at.
Many thanks

Thank you. By Googling the details you provided I have traced a stockist that claims to have them in stock, but I will give them a call before believing that.
Do you have a link to an exploded diagram that shows the construction of the hinges, which will help me determine the replacement method?
Many thanks

Both those hinges show as out of stock everywhere I’m afraid so, whilst not officially designated as obsolete, they’re a hair’s breadth away from that if not that already and just not noted as so.

Thank you for the picture. As you say, not a great help with the springs themselves, but at least showing the components around them.
Sorry to hear about the availability situation, Spares4appliances show them as in stock, but that may be their default position until they have actually tried to source them.
Sounds like a new cooker may be on the cards, if I can find one that will fit the slot. Apart from the hinge problem, which threatens to catch you if you’re not careful, the clock misbehaves from time to time. I’m not sure how long we have had it.
