ParticipantHi
Our Samsung RS21 JPSV has today started leaking a slow dripping of water down the front of the freezer door from the bottom of the panel that houses the water and ice dispenser. I took a look inside and there was ice in the shoot so I took the ice maker out and defrosted it all. There was water in this that had stuck all the ice together and the sections in it were all iced up. I put it back and turned the water valve back on. Within ten mins there was a steady small flow of water. Can the compartment that houses the digital display etc come off to look behind it at all? Obviously something is leaking from behind and coming out at the join on the front. There is no water leakage in the freezer at all. The fridge freezer is 13 years old so has done us well but I’m hoping to avoid replacing it just yet. The fridge freezer is still working well so I’ve just turned the water off to it at the moment.
Many thanksMarch 1, 2016 at 6:03 pm #435926admin

Thank you. Sorry for being dense but why would water be leaking at the bottom of the drinks dispenser housing? Would it not leak from the tap the water comes out of? There’s no water coming out of there. The drip tray is dry. The ice and water are still working. It’s just on the right hand bottom join. This morning it was the left side until I cleared the ice bucket bit.

Try and work out if it leaks when or just after you use water dispenser ?
Leave the water switched on at valve overnight if you can as that will tell you whether this is a dispenser fault or water supply fault if you catch my drift !
I imagine that it will still leak even though you do not use it
The water comes up from the bottom of the door in a prefabricated pipe so to my knowledge NOT repairable and have to change door BUT
IF leaking when dispensing or ice melting through a sticking ice chute then a completely different ball game?
See what you can come up with pls -
