I ordered a replacement element for my Diplomat APL 3201 oven and received the part today. I attempted to fit it but it appears to have a different way of fitting to the back of the oven. My original has a flat metal “prong” that fits into a hole in the back of the oven whereas the replacement part looks like it needs to be attached to the back of the oven by screwing it in via a flat metal panel with a hole in it.

Anyone familiar with this issue confirm if I can just source a suitable screw and attach it by screwing this to the back of the oven – assuming the hole for the original “prong” is suitable? If so can I pick up a suitable screw in a DIY store?

I have attached a photo showing the difference between the 2 parts.

    Thanks in advance
