bosch cooker hinges

    hi all had a couple of cookers that took hinges fine door closed,then after a while not closing at the top.a customer said a bosch engineer cut a piece of metal from the two hinges,any ideas. 🙁

    sounds like the socket is faulty also

    from what I can think anywhere you remove material is going to make it worse

    The only hinges where there is that kind of ‘mod’ that i know of are certain older fridge door hinges ?

    Look carefully and determine if the door is lower than the horizontal when fully opened. If so, get a large straight screwdriver and with it pointing downwards put the tip of the blade (edge on) in the hinge socket so it just goes behind the sockets lower edge by a few mm’s . Now push the screwdriver handle upwards and towards the front of the oven as if you are shutting the door. A few gentle pushes should do it. Do both sides and refit door. 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time the hinges will snap the door shut perfectly. The other 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} will be new hinges.
