We have an extremely old Creda Europa Solar Plus twin oven, which to be honest we were aiming to keep going for another few months and then bin as I’m going to replace the whole kitchen. However, as is the way, the oven packed in today.
Basically the fan normally stops when you open the door, but now when you close the door it doesn’t start. I’ve checked the switch that is pressed by closing the door with a resistance meter, closed circuit when door open and open circuit when door closed so I’m guessing I’ve eliminated the simple fault. If I turn the oven on the red light comes on to show under temperature. If I open the door then the fan comes on for a few minutes before going off and the oven starts getting warm, close the door and the fan goes off and the oven doesn’t heat.
Does anyone have any suggestions for next diagnostic checks and what might be wrong? Obviously I’d like to avoid spending a huge amount of money as I’ll buy a new oven with the new kitchen but I’m not sure we can get by with just the small top oven. 🙁

I assume that the model number is on the back? As it is built in I’ll have to get it right out so will do that and check.

It should be on a stick on label inside the main oven door near the bottom, sadly they often peel off or wear away. 🙁
There are many versions of this model, with different wiring set ups for the door micro switch but TBH your door switch does not appear to be functioning correctly.

Looking at the nearest model wiring diagram that I have to that model and all others in the same range it does point towards a faulty door micro switch.
