Hello! My golden retriever is going to be moulting like crazy again soon (happens every year in the summer) and I’m sick of vacuuming every day. I’m hoping I can find a more powerful vacuum for pet hair that might mean I can clean every OTHER day at least 😀

I’ve been doing research but to be honest I’m kind of confused. I’ve seen this model by SEBO http://spotlesvacuum.co.uk/upright-vacu … er-review/ which has good reviews and apparently very powerful…but it’s not specifically for pet hair and it doesn’t seem to have lots of advanced features (and it’s quite pricey).

Then I found the Dyson DC40 Animal http://www.cnet.comuk/products/dyson-dc40-origin/ which is made for cleaning pet hair, but it’s more expensive and doesn’t have as good ratings.

So I was hoping someone here would have some advice. The SEBO or the Dyson? Or something completely different? My only requirements are that it’s AMAZING for pet hair and has a large capacity (so I don’t have to empty it all the time). If it was under £300 that would be great too.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi

You need to research some more 😉 The Sebo X4 pet would be the one you need and yes you can get it for under £300.00.

I have clipped your advertising links as well.

I am afraid I look at which with a lot of scepticism. some of the product they recommend I would not buy.
what you have to remember is appliances need to pass 2 tests 1) they must do the job 2) they must last long enough to be cost effective

take spares access on the 2 cleaners and a simple part, motor brushes. Sebo available Dyson new motor and lists like this go on. Add to this fact the sebo is much more reliable and it has my vote. How many Dyson cleaners are used in offices and shops like Sebo units are

The Sebo is the weapon of choice for the vast majority of the commercial cleaning companies, different class to Dyson by a long chalk.

As Far I know Shark Rocket Series from the Brand Shark performs great for Pet hair.
Specially Shark Rocket HV 301 is a great one you may consider.

Re: Looking for a powerful upright for pet hair – advice?

Sebo far outclasses the Dyson on almost all counts except when dealing with smelly dogs and their hairs. To clarify I mean that the Sebo has a dust bag which only gets emptied when full whereas the Dyson you can empty after every use. Pet hairs stored in a vacuum cleaner stink. Storing the vac under the stairs makes the cupboard stink. Using it with a stinky part filled bag and you spread the smell everywhere.

The bag less noisy, less reliable Dyson means you have the yucky task of emptying the container. Straight into an outside wheelie bin the best option. So at least you rid the house of the smell.

The Dyson may just be your best option. I would never choose a Dyson over a Sebo but then again I don’t have any pets. 😉

We have both a SEBO X4 Extra upright vacuum and a dog.

It takes only seconds to sprinkle a small dose of THIS into the top of the bag every time we use the vac, no odours, in fact a nice perfumed smell follows you round as you vac. 🙂

Your post can best be regarded as SPAM. It’s USA related, is obsolete as far as UK readers are concerned as we have regulations in place to ensure vac motors do not exceed 900 watts. PLUS all the links go to Amazon.com in the US

…..and now the dust has settled* on the spammer, recent regulations begs the question ‘what are Sebo going to bring out to keep within those regs?’

    (* deliberate pun 8) )
