HI all, I have reecntly been given a hoover vision VHV380-80 dryer.
Soon as i press the power button the drum will start spinning
it will cut of when i open the door, it won’t stop if i hold the cancel button
all that happens is it will show that it is at the end of its cycle but will quickly go back to play.

So far i have checked all the stats and the ntc sensor in the front,
All are in a closed state and the ntc sensor drops resistance when heated so that seems ok. I have also checked the motor relays which are in a open state when not powered on.
so i was hoping someone could help me find a solution to my problem

i have checked and it, and it seems fine
the only part that looks damaged in any way is the main motor relay, which has a bit of warping on one side but operates normal. As it is in a open state with out power and must switch to closed to make the motor run.
it looks like there might be a fault with the controller ic,
but other that it constantly spinning it works perfectly.

if the relay is closing without the start button being pressed its got to be the board

tomorrow i will check the transistors that drive the relays
hopefully one is shorted else i will have to source a replacement board

I found out what was causing the problem,
the yellow sense wire on the element was charred so it wasn’t making a contact.
I managed to get a replacement element from a donor dryer at work
now it work like a charm 🙂
