Customer has complained the above machine uses excess salt and the glasses are coming out very cloudy.

I have checked the salt cap and seal and they appear to be OK.

I have noticed that the salt valve operates just after the initial fill for about 30 seconds, is this correct? I thought the salt regen valve operated at the end of the wash so the salt solution would pass through the crystals and be pumped out whereas if the water passes through when the machine first fills I would have thought it would be introduced into the wash and cause the above problem?

    Replace the salt valve.

    Thanks Martin,
Should the valve be energised at this time though?

    Thanks Martin,
Brilliant, I’ve not seen those diagrams before.
I don’t understand, The regeneration valve was activated for a good 30 seconds just after the machine had finished it’s fill but as the inlet valve wasn’t activated the machine didn’t take in any more water. I don’t know if it would have been possible for the brine solution to pass into the wash at that point?
