Hotpoint Smart cards

Hi guys, sorry if this is posted elsewhere and i missed it.

Will the hotpoint and indesit smart cards overwrite an already programmed module or does the new module need to be blank?

For instance. If i have the same module from a different model no, will the allready programmed module accept a new programme from the smart card converting it to the correct programme for the new machine.
