I changed the condenser door lock on this 11 year old Bosch condenser dryer today by easing the lock in through the bottom of the front frame, quite a long winded process. It would have been much easier if I’d been able to remove the front panel, but I found the top fixings were hidden under the control panel which seemed impossible to remove.

Can anyone enlighten me on how to remove the control panel on these Bosch dryers?

As with most Bosch stuff, its a case of remove any obvious screws and prise the plastic pins out of the metal clips gripping them with all the cracking noises to worry the customer and hope enough remain to hold it back together again afterwards.

As you say, I guess it must just unclip, as there are no visible screws in the panel. I tried to unclip the top edge, which pops out quite easily on Bosch washing machine panels, but this panel appeared to have concealed rigid upward facing hooks at the top, which didn’t want to budge.

Breaking the odd clip on a Hoover washing machine panel is something I have lived through, but perhaps, on older German made Bosch tumble dryers, also something I may just have to come to terms with!

Normally a large flat bladed screwdriver under the bottom edge will help prise of the facia panel.

Good tip, nomadPaul, I’ll focus on the bottom edge when (if?) I need to get the panel off one of these again.
