ParticipantI have just replaced the control board of my Bosch WFL 1880AU30 loader after some months of it sitting idle since the previous control board blew up (from water exposure).
On the first run I heard a popping noise, the machine went through the motions of filling and spinning but continued to overfill after some minutes. I have tried trouble shooting the relevant parts such as the water valve and pressure sensor, making sure there was no blockage in the airhose etc.
We removed the water inlet valve and found continuity but were unable to test whether the mechanical side could be faulty as it is a sealed unit.
On replacing the original water inlet valve, I tried a further trial run without clothes and Eureka, the machine completed the cycle set at 30 and showed the relevant LED for the end of the cycle. We thought we had resolved the issue, but on the first wash with clothes the machine overfilled yet again.
Could anyone shed light on this problem. A Bosch service person suggested the water valve might be faulty as well as the timing function on the PCB. Also we didn’t reprogram the machine when we replaced the PCB as we assumed it would be the same configuration as the secondhand PCB was from the same model machine. Also if it was a PCB fault would the machine have completed the full wash cycle if the timing was faulty? We are planning to buy another cold water inlet valve but before we commit can anyone give any suggestions of what the problem might be or where we go from here.April 20, 2016 at 7:52 am #437198electrofix

there seems to be 7 versions of this machine and they could well use different components
to be certain we need to know the number on the end Enr should be something like
WFL1880AU /01 this last number can make all the difference
as for the valve I have looked up a random model and there is a cheaper non gen valve and it will be as good. get full Enr and look in site shop or email themDave

Thanks Dave. The full model number is WFL1880AU/30FD8511.
It has also been suggested the pressure switch might need replacing. Is the a non genuine part that would suit this model at Uk white goods?April 21, 2016 at 7:45 am #437200electrofix

pressure switch part number 600925
valve part number 428210 non gen val33this is the old style of pressure switch so take it off and blow into it a few times in case its stuck while lying idle
if you can get the machine to overfill while watching it try turning off at the plug while its still filling. it should stop the water very quickly if it hesitates or continues to fill change the valve
if you need part listings go here
