ParticipantHOTPOINT TUMBLE DRYER Model No.TCYL757C6G
After a couple of minutes of running all the lights flash (high heat, extra care, crease care, delay timer & start/pause) then about 20-30mins later the dryer stops as if its reached the end of the program, I have tried different programs and times and still get the same outcome also I don’t feel any heat coming out of it. Does anyone know what the error code means and how to fix it??April 22, 2016 at 5:31 pm #437253Martin

That model number is one likely to be included in Hotpoint’s safety recall. Have you checked to see if it is affected?

Yes it is a recall model but they won’t come out to inspect the dryer until November. I spoke to hotpoint to see if my problem was linked to the recall but just told I had to call out a local engineer.

Question is, will you completely indemnify the local engineer if the dryer burns your house down after he has fixed it, or will your own house insurance cover you if you continue to use it after a repair from a non company engineer?
Might be better to push for the new replacement dryer offer at £99 than pay for a repair.

So I called Hotpoint and told them my dryer isn’t working and whether it is linked to the recall problem so they sent an engineer out.
The engineer has fixed the recall problem but said the secondary problem isn’t linked and doesn’t know what is causing it, his only suggestion was to take out a service plan and get it fixed that way.
If have to pay £140 for the service plan to fix it then fine I will but when im an engineer by trade (not on house hold appliances) I prefer to fix things myself!
So going back to my question does anyone know why I have no heat and all the lights flash when the dryer in running??May 6, 2016 at 9:40 pm #437257Martin

Try checking the heater and the heater overheat cut outs 💡
