I have two flats 1st and second floor. I would like to duct cooker hood both to outside wall. Can I join the two ducting out of one wall vent. This will be the best option as the second floor kitchen is directly above the 1st floor and can join the ductwork behind stud walls in the alcoves next to the chimneys.

    Hi

No 2 into 1 won’t go. they will fight each other if they are both on at the same time and cross contaminate.

You will need to use a minimum of 5″ ducting also. distance requirements :

each bend equals 0.5 mtr and exit vent is classed as a bend. Normal hoods are rated for maximum run of 3-4mtrs total.
