Went to a White Knight/Crosslee dryer that is cutting out- going dead – after a short period – 10 secs to a minute or so. Model 86AW – (0312 86A 1500 full model No.)
This is a sensor dryer with a main pcb and a front panel control pcb. Heater and stats I tested and are all OK (plus meggered heater = OK). Motor runs OK. Heats OK.
Everything works on all pgms for a few seconds, then one of the relays clicks and the machine goes dead – no lights, no controls work. Unplug it for ten seconds and it is all working again.
I would appreciate some advice, as I don’t want to just replace both PCBs at great expense (even if the customer agrees!). Its not just the start relay dropping out as the machine goes completely dead for a while. No damage evident on the main PCB.
Advice appreciated!
Re: Crosslee dryer cutting out;
Before anyone says “you just press the little red reset button on the back” – no, it is not tripping and all that does anyway is turn off the heat!
Just thought I would mention it!
I had this problem, but I never got to the bottom of it as it got exchanged by the supplier. I played parts bingo with the timer, relay pcb and the start switches. Neither solved it.
