‘Technical fault’ or words to that effect are displayed randomly and the machine stops what it’s doing and sometimes drains, but sometimes the door will not open, however my customer was not clear about whether or not it’s draining in this circumstance.
The customer has described it as happening between ten minutes and half an hour into the wash.
Whilst I was there I observed it filling, draining, agitating, and spinning and the customer assures me that it heats. Also whilst there I got the error message about three minutes into a spin, but after checking the brushes and tacho – both ok – it went through a complete spin but then displayed the ‘technical fault’ message a few minutes later whilst it was not actually on a cycle.
Given the apparent random nature of the fault I’m thinking possible mechanical problem as opposed to purely electrical. The door needs to be closed quite robustly. I also noticed what appears to be a telescopic load sensor attached to the tub. I could be wrong but it seemed not to slide quite as smoothly as perhaps it should. For what it’s worth there was about 245 ohms between adjacent pins, and about double that across pins one and three.
Any help gratefully received.
