Participantdial whizzing around at an abnormal speed and the on/off light flashes 3 times pause, 3 times pause. the water is coming in and the pump is emptying at the same time. i have replaced the water temp sender unit and still the problem is there. i have perused the forum until my head hurts and my eyes grow dim. can someone advise me please? thank you. bless.

have you tested the two wires from the ntc to the main pcb for good continuity?

Don’t recognise that model number either?

ok, i checked the continuity with an avo and it is good. whilst i was in there i removed as many terminals as i could reach without further dis-assembly and cleaned the contacts and checked that they were secure. i can see no rips, tears, burnt offerings at the connectors and no loose wires or fittings.
do i have to reset anything having replaced the water temp probe?
i did not check the old probe in warm water with an avo nor did i check the new one. i guess it is possible but not probable that the new item is faulty. how ever am i barking up the wrong tree?
i checked the model number,
indesit w 104 sp

1850w at 1000rpm.

type lb2000c. perhaps the fact that i am in spain has some bearing on the model number? it is a machine which came with the house which we recently bought. it has been working good and it looks to be in a fairly good condition inside and out.May 17, 2016 at 3:11 pm #437700iadom

That would explain the model number difference.
Was the temp sensor (ntc) the round disc type that slots into the back of the drum or the short probe type that slots into the heater itself?
The wiring plug/contacts on the latter one are very poor and to tell the truth the whole machine is not recognised as anywhere near the best here in the UK.
The electronics are very flaky and could also be the cause of your problem. 🙁

the temp sensor is tubular in shape, aluminium housing about 10 mm diameter and40mm long-ish. thank you for the advice which you have passed onto me.
given that i do not have a quality machine and given that it is broken with no obvious cost effective easily repairable fault it would seem likely that buying another machine seems politic. would you be so kind as to suggest a good machine that i ought to consider? i very much appreciate your input here.
having just relayed your consideration to my wonderful wife, she is i suspect somewhat delighted that a new machine is on the cards and has expressed a preference for a high capacity robust machine. any further suggestions you are able to offer will be helpful i am sure. thank you.May 18, 2016 at 2:38 pm #437702iadom

Not sure what your budget is but Miele is about the best you can buy.
