    Hello
    Last desperate attempt for help!
We have an unused Cannon Chesterfield C60GTCF gas cooker, it was bought as ex-display but now installed we have found that the main oven igniter ( and all other igniters)keep sparking after the oven is alight, the ignition switch behind the main oven knob and the spark generator have both been replaced without success. Cannon/Hotpoint are useless. The oven is connected to the clock/timer and doesn’t function without this connection, the oven has never been used because of this problem so this is our last attempt for advise before investing in another cooker.

My knowledge of gas cookers is next to zilch but could one or more of the control knobs be activating the ignition switch. OR maybe the control panel itself is misaligned in such a way as to be operating the switch???

    Hi Jane

At a quest it is either the ignition generator and or the ignition candle. If the ignition candle does not heat up or sense heat then it does not send a signal back saying that its alight and will continue to ignite.
