The main oven U1442N0GB/ 10 doesn’t get as hot as it used to, we still use it but the cakes being baked have soggy centres. We use it on circofan setting, the fan starts spinning as soon as the oven goes on and continues happily spinning until the oven has cooled down , the red light goes out. What do you think is wrong?

You say “the fan starts spinning” but you may be confusing the cooling fan with the fan at the back of the oven? If you turn the oven on, with the door open, the fan should rotate and the heat from the fan element should very quickly blast out hot air. Does that happen?

Hi Martin, yes, the fan at the back of the oven is spinning, heat is coming out and the red light is on

So we have established that the fan at the back works but then you say the red light comes on then goes out and the oven cools down?

Slightly confusing I must confess. 😕

Ahh, maybe I’m confusing things, so I’ll describe the oven’s cycle from cold:
switch on oven to a temperature, on comes red light, oven fan starts up, oven heats up n red light will go out, in goes cake for normal time. Remove cake at usual time n switch off oven, cut a slice…………….burst into tears cos it’s got a soggy middle n never used to. Oven cooling fan (I presume) is blowing out warm air.
I have checked the rubber door seals n they are undamaged.
