ParticipantHi I wonder if anyone can help.
I have a bosch SGS43C02GB dishwasher which has just stopped working.
When starting a cycle you can hear what I think is the drain pump running but it doesn’t fill. The water supply is fine and the inline filter is clean. The inlet valve is as the back but I can’t see an easy way to get to it. There is a plastic cover around the inlet pipe but not sure how to remove it and I don’t what to break it. Can anyone let me know how it is removed or are there any disassembly manuals available on line?May 28, 2016 at 4:33 pm #438020electrofix

Dave, yes and after a while the drain pump stops and then no action.
I have filled it manually using a jug and it is now off running a cycle
I’m waiting to see if it drains at the endMay 28, 2016 at 5:09 pm #438022martin1956

btw it is an SGS43C)2GB/35 if that helps and it seemed to drain successfully, I assume that was the rinse cycle and then no fill.
for information it has had the main control board replaced under the recall about two years ago
Only other information I can give you is that the tablet dispenser stopping working about 6 months ago. I replaced the unit but still no joy so I suspect it isn’t being triggered from the main PCB

chances are its the cold water valve located where the inlet hose connects at the back. if you remove it coil can be checked with a meter. shoulb be around 5-7k ohms
if you need a parts breakdown go here http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/search
also take left hand side off and check pressure switch unit item 482936 on diagram 4 at above site dont think it your fault this time but they get blocked easily

Many thanks Dave, I’ll give that a try this morning. I did see that the part is available on here for just over £20. So if the coil is dead I’ll try that.
Any thoughts on the tablet dispenser not working?
I assume that must be activated at the beginning of the main hot wash cycle. I was thinking of putting a test lamp on the circuit to see if it is energised during the wash cycle. On that note I was trying to ascertain exactly what the cycle entails, couldn’t find it on the internet but assume it is something like
fill, cold rinse, about 30 mins
fill, hot wash main cycle, assume it is here that the tablet door should open, lasts around an hour?
fill, hot rinse and then drying, not sure how long that should lastDo you have any details?
Many thanks once again for your time and helpMartin

so the inlet solenoid is getting 240 volts after the drain pump stops and having removed it, it is open circuit. New one ordered.
So Dave looks like your diagnosis was correct, many thanks for your help

So the new inlet solenoid is in and is working a treat, thanks Dave, your diagnosis was spot on.
While I have the front panel off I’m still trying to get the tablet door to work properly
I replaced the door a while ago but it didn’t resolve the problem
If I apply 240 volts to the terminals little red plunger in the tablet door it does slowly and successfully open the door. However putting a meter on the wiring to it during a cycle I don’t think it ever receives 240 volts from the main programmer. I have checked continuity in the wiring, no problems there so it must either be the connection to the main programmer or the programmer itself. Anyone got any thoughts on that?
Is that a programmable function on the controller. To be honest I can’t remember when it stopped working, could it have been something that was missed when the new programmer was installed after the recallAny help gratefully received

The door is supposed to be receiving power after prewash, when the heater comes on.
If you have a short/fast program (usually around 30 minutes) then the door will open after only a few minutes, so you should be getting a reading fairly quickly. If it’s not getting power and the leads are ok, then you’ll have to check at the module itself. If you’re not getting a reading there then you’ll have to replace or repair the module.
