Asked to attend to above single oven tripping earlier.
However, ruled out the oven as RCD tripped a couple of times whilst investigating problem, with oven switched off at mains.
The remaining concern is that the temp’ lamp is lit even when controls are set to off.
With the oven control set to grill or fan oven position, and the temp’ control knob is moved to increase the temperature, then the lamp goes out prior to tripping…. so very difficult to diagnose a faulty thermostat.
An electrician is visiting to carry out related house wiring tests etc, but I’m wondering if the ‘stat is also faulty with these symptoms?
neon lamps will light on 3mA so can does not need a lot of leakage to make them light and also only need 90v ( in neon screwdrivers the current goes through your body )
so you looking for a switch which has a high resistance when open somewhere below 80K ohms or so
