ParticipantHi,
Recently, having worked faultlessly, our Beko DWD4310 has developed a loud thumping noise which only occurs during the fill cycle. I have monitored the whole normal (prog 3) wash cycle now several times and it seems there are 3 fill stages each of which you hear the inlet open and water fill and after maybe 10-15 seconds a rhythmic thump begins to start (quiet at first then louder). It stops when the fill cycle completes and the circulation pump begins. The sound seems to come from the front bottom left of the machine.
The main circ pump sounds normal and the drain pump is fine. There is no major problem as the actual wash works well with clean dishes but I am keen to resolve it as it didn’t happen before!
I have noticed also that during drying cycle the machine does seem to get pretty hot and occasionally a possible boiling sound (!) seems to happen. I am not sure if this is a problem or even related to the above.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

If your heater is staying on when it shouldn’t the pcb has failed.

Regards SimonThanks Simon… Any ideas if the two issues might be related? I.e. should I replace PCB and then see if it cures other issue (I am doubtful only because the former issue sounds mechanical).
Thanks.

If it is boiling then pcb first. I seem to remember a thumping sound on the last one I did

Hi Simon,
Thanks for that – I will do so. As it happened I did a programme 1 cycle this morning (cold rinse) and when it finished it was very hot and steamy inside so I would think that helps confirm your diagnosis!
I’ll let you know the outcome in a couple of day hopefully.

Happy to report that the new PCB appears to have done the trick both for the original issue (thumping noise on fill) and the secondary issue of boiling/overheating.
Supplied with no hassle from the UK Whitegood Shop  and fitted in all of about 5 minutes!
Programme 1 (cold rinse) was cold and no thumping; I’m most of the way through Programme 3 (standard wash) with no thumping on fill and presumably no over heating!
Thanks for reading – I hope this is of use to someone somewhere.
Jon.
