ParticipantHello
After inspecting my dishwasher pump for a failure to pump hot water to the cabin, I removed and cleaned the pump and put everything back together four times and each time the dishwasher trips the electrics.
Ive done the heater element on this last year so it isnt my installation.
It will not turn on until I have let the motor and impeller dry out. By removing it and drying it.
The impeller looks cracked (magnetic area).
The holes at the back of the impeller leak water when I put water into one of the pipes. Is this normal because its not operating or has something gone wrong? The holes do sit into the black hosing and not in contact with the magnetic area once installed however.
Could it all be because the seal always has to be replaced with dismantling the heater from the motor?
Ive attached pictures and a video.
Would appreciate some urgent help as I would like it sorted to help my mum 😀

Hi Dave
Thanks so much for the reply.
So the cracked magnet would cause the breaker to trip?

no not on its own (unless it leaks) but the motor wont work with the crack
but when you cost the motor it may not be worth fixing

Thanks
Ive purchased a motor for 46 so it’ll be worth it even if I get another two years from it.
If the breaker trips again the heater is still within warranty, as ive identified that is the cause as no trips when I unplug it. (motor and heater can trip the heater connection)
Ill update the thread when Im finished no doubt it will help someone.

So when Ive disconnected the cable to the heater the dishwasher powers on.
However when it is connected there is a circuit break as soon as I put the plug in.
What could be the reason for this if the heater gives out a resistance and looks to be working normally. Is it an insulation problem? The reading was a little high at 38ohms.

So I was receiving error code E4 Heating phase timed out
Heater open circuit
NTC thermistor detached from casingbut the heater was working until the drying phase.
Also the motor was faulty and only pumping water intermittently.
I checked the NTC thermistor which is connected to inlet pump on this model. I also disconected the wiring to the PCB of the heater power cable and wire brushed a bit of rust around there.
I replaced both motor and heater. Heater was less than a year old so got that done through warranty.
With new motor the RCD was tripping on the heater drawing too many amps. Maybe thats the cause of e4 was a thermostat time out.
All working now. Hope this heater doesn’t fail in less than a year.
Heater was showing continuity but insulation / earth leak causing rcd trip + drying phase failure.
