All spin + wash light flashing, motor brushes worn down but comm didn’t look great.

    Motor overload blown.

Fitted a new motor but I cannot clear the flashing lights.

    Two questions,

1: Is the ‘hold spin button, turn to 6 o’clock release and move knob one click’ the correct procedure for this model?

2: If the motor has blown the main pcb would I still get all the error lights flashing or would it be dead?

have you checked board for damage ?

    clear proceedure is

turn knob to 6 o clock
    press and hold spin speed
turn knob to 7 o clock
    now release spin button
sometimes take 2 or 3 tries

works on lots of bosch machine with spin speed button

I have done this reset dozens of times, never had one clear at the first attempt, but usually always managed it in the end.

Just wanted to know if the lights will still flash if the board has been damaged to save me having to return, didn’t have enough time this morning to remove the pcb after the prolonged attempts to clear it. 🙁

I have also come across a totally different reset involving turning the knob just one turn to the left, but think that is for more recent machines.

it will go into fault mode if the motor does not move and i think it will also go if its open circuit due to blown track
there are a few resets but the one you have tried is correct one for wae series

It is the first one I have been unable to reset but every single one of the others was just brush replacement, not blown toc.

I wonder if anyone has had any success repairing blown tracks?

Only one way to find out I suppose. 🙂

done a couple with no probs
should be ok unless the relay contacts have welded and will normally only do that if it goes with a bang

    Sorted. 🙂

Took pcb out and it was fine, no signs of any damage whatsoever, cleaned and refitted and put the new motor back in.

I then placed a comfortable chair in front of the machine and for almost 20 minutes sat there trying to get it to reset. tried the routine quickly, slowly but no matter what I tried it would not clear.

Even my infinite patience was at breaking point and I eventually decided to call it quits and at that very instant when I turned the knob back to off it cleared. Can these machines read your mind. ❓

I have never yet failed to clear one but this was far and away the worst one I have had. :rolls:

    Jim.
