Hello!
Two months ago my then 3-year-old Bosch Dishwasher had a problem with its heating element. For a long time it wasn’t cleaning and drying dishes well. It also filled up with water and kept on tripping the fuseboard. Eventually I got an error code (E09). Even though the machine was still relatively new, I decided to get a new dishwasher, as repairing it seemed to be more expensive.I now have a Siemens SN26M892GB. When it was installed, I did ask them to check the drain and water supply and they said it all looked fine. However, after only one month, the heating element seems to be gone again? I get error code E09 towards the end of the programme, and when I opened the machine in the middle of a cycle, the water was very cold. Our fuse did trip the other day too, but I am not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure this is related to the dishwasher.
I am just wondering if there might be an outside issue causing my dishwashers to break down? I hope you might be able to give me some advice?

Other than stuff getting onto or building up on the element or perhaps a voltage irregularity I can’t think of anything.

Only way is to open the machine up, get the heater out and have a look.

Hi
I assume this is a new appliance? If this is the case it’s only a couple of months old diving in will invalidate your two year guarantee. Instead get Siemens out to investigate further. Give the engineer the whole history and go from there.
Don’t forget to have the full ENR and FD number from around the door frame to hand when you phone.Don

Well done then you as that rules out any potential limescale build-up that often plagues enclosed heating systems such as is in these Bosch/Siemens dishwashers. Having said that it is true to say that these machines are well known for there regular failings of their combined ‘heat/pump’ contraption. Its a good job it is covered by a 2 (or maybe even 5) year guarantee making it BSH’s problem and not yours. 😉

Thank you so much for all your thoughts! It is under 5 year guarantee. I was just worried of it not being covered and the possibility of our electricity/water supply causing this to happen, as it happened to two machines and the last one is only a few months old. If it is an ‘outside’ issue I’d rather solve this first, before I get an engineer in…. but it seems unlikely from what I read from all of you?
