ParticipantWe are having a problem with our new Beko fridge freezer (model no ASL141S). The display is not working properly: It just displays two zeros (freezer and fridge temperatures). Pressing buttons makes a noise, but the display does not change. My old fridge freezer had a way to reset it (we had to press two buttons simultaneously for a few seconds). I am just wondering if this model has a way to reset the display (or reset the whole fridge freezer). Please note this is a brand new product switched on for the first time. Also, the fridge and freezer seem to be working fine.
Thank you

I think, somehow, you’ve gotten it into the service menu.
I can’t be completely sure as the info I have on that machine covers multiple display types and to be honest, it’s a tad confusing the way it’s written. Probably better if you were stood in front of it to a degree.
I think pressing the Select and Set button simultaneously for three seconds should get it back to rights but as I said, not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure.
If that doesn’t do it post a pic of the panel and I or someone will try to figure it out.

Have you got the key lock button turned on?
The buttons will not work if the lock is displayed.
Hold the key lock button for three seconds to turn it off if it is displayed. You can try turning off at the mains for Twenty minutes then turn it on again this sometimes resets the fridge freezer to its default setting.

Many thanks for your replies.
@kwatt: I don’t have a “Select” button (there are two “Set” buttons). I held both Set buttons for a few seconds, but nothing happened. I have attached an image of the display.
@SAMURI: There’s no way to tell whether or not the display is locked. I tried pressing the lock button for 3 seconds a few times, but this hasn’t changed anything. In fact the Lock and Holiday buttons are the two buttons that don’t make any noise when pressed (the rest do). Following your suggestion I switched the machine off for 20 minutes, but that hasn’t done anything.Mohamed

Okay, holding both those set buttons for two second should put it into service mode.
Then press the freezer set button to the left four times.
That enters the “password”. :rolls:
Step 1: Buzzer will be active for a short time. After that, LEDs will illuminate for 0.5 sec and go off for 0.5 sec.
Step 2: When any button is pressed, Step 1 is terminated. Software version is shown on the FF compartment and the revision info is shown on FRZ compartment as follows.
Step 3: Freezer Set and Fridge Set buttons are briefly pressed on simultaneously, selected components are started to be driven. By pressing the Select button, selected components are made “On” and Off”. At this step, the Fans, Blue led and Illumination LEDS are turned on.Step 4: When any button is pressed, sensor is started to be shown.
It should then come out of the service menu after you cycle through the sensor readings although you may need to press and hold the set buttons again for a few seconds.
Far as I can tell, that’s about all you can do.

Thanks again for the quick response. I tried to follow your steps, but nothing happens after pressing the freezer Set button 4 times. Do you have a pdf of the service manual you can share with me? The user manual is useless when it comes to these problems.

Sorry Mohamed, due to copyrighting and all that we are not allowed to distribute service manuals, common to all I’m afraid.
It is more than possible there’s a fault with it though as what you have there is not shown specifically as an error code nor as part of the service menu.
I’d say you’d probably done as much as you can and it’s time to log a warranty call for it as, it should be in warranty.

Hi All,
After 3 engineer visits, I am happy to report that my fridge-freezer has finally been fixed.
He first changed the display then the PCB (in 2 separate visits) but that didn’t help. Then they though it was a communication problem, so they wanted to change both display and PCB together. This time he came with a senior engineer.
* He checked ALL connectors with a multimeter (*behind the display, *on top of the freezer door and *under the PCB). When he put the old display back on, it worked. They think – when they tested the connectors – they must have pushed something back in place. That’s All.
I am happy it’s working but a liitle annoyed as this should have been done in the first visit.
All the best
Mohamed

Thanks for the update Mohamed, I actually really do appreciate it as will many of the guys, this kind of info is gold.
And yet again it demonstrates not to jump to the conclusion that boards are faulty. We stress this to people all the time, check all connections!
