I have received the sad news that Roger Hurkett died a few days ago. Most of you may not have known Roger but he was the founder and driving force behind DASA, as well as many other ventures, in an effort to improve the image and conditions for the service industry.
It must be remembered that when DASA was first formed things like the internet were not available and Roger put in a tremendous amount of effort, and energy, to get it up and running. I know many of you may not look favourably on DASA but at the time it was the only voice for the independent service companies.
I know that there are still some old fogies, like me, that will remember the good work Roger did for the industry, for which he received very little credit, or reward. I am sure the few of us that remain will want to remember him and may wish to pass on their condolences to Maddy and the family. I am sure that any messages will be forwarded to Maddy if you email services@71group.co.uk
RIP Roger.
