    The red light on this washing machine start button flashes on/off. Cannot start machine, all controls inactive. Have tried disconnecting/reconnecting from power.
    Can anyone point to a cause and solution?

    Count the flashes before the pause. It should flash red so many times and then green.

    Thanks for the suggestion. But the flashing is continuous when the machine is connected to the power and doesn’t stop regardless of the control position or buttons pressed.

    Ensure the child lock hasn’t been activated if not then its detecting a fault with itself.

    It seems to me that the child lock is not activated (the door closes normally).
