    Gary Hi
I have a LG WD-8015C that trips the mains power during a cycle wash ,
it starts off fine, pump/ wash etc , and then it will trip the fuse box fuse. If I manually turn the wash motor a half turn , and plug it back in away it will continue. The carbon brushes on the motor commutator are original and can be inspected visually under the machine ,(The machine is 8 years old) could this cause the problem? NB I am a qualified electrician but have limited knowledge of washing machines . Is any one able to help?
    Thanks

if the motor brushes spark then it can cause the trips to go. Also suspect the heater if it trips on a wash programme
take each brush off the motor and see how long they are. New brushes are about 20mm long but they still work down to about 5mm.
