We have a WFF2000 that is generally good and reliable.

However of late when we open the door at the end of the cycle there’s a stronger than usual smell of detergent from the machine, and on the washing. This leaves me wondering if it’s rinsing thoroughly.

There are no “code” lights flashing on the panel or immediate areas of concern.

Does anyone have any experience of this, thoughts or suggestions?

When did you last do a high temperature ‘service wash’ with a bleach based detergent??

    That’d be, never … ;-))

The Handbook has a description of first wash; to run a “coloureds 60C” cycle with 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} quantity of normal washing powder in chamber ll (as in normal wash). Is this the cycle you’re referring to, and what is a bleach-based detergent (never heard of it before).

    Many thanks, Jules

Any powder based detergent formulated for washing whites (it contains bleach). The packages are usually green or have a green top on the lid. (Liquid gels don’t contain bleach).

Similarly you can use a specific cleaning agent like Affresh or Dr Beckmann. 💡

Thanks Martin; yes, I found some links on the site here, so ways to clean and de-smell ‘machines. Which? also has some reviews but not as good as the information here.

It looks like running more than 60C on the WFF2000 requires a connection to both the cold and hot supply taps (we have a Y-piece on the cold pipe) so, coloureds 60C looks like the cycle and we’ll give it a go. Many thanks.

So long as both valves are connected to the cold water supply it should make no odds on getting a higher temp than 60 degrees..
