ParticipantHi
We’ve a Bosch HTHB13 ENrHBN131560B which is not heating up since Saturday. The previous time it was used was for the grill when apparently there was some smoke coming off it.
It has power going to it – the hob still works as does the clock.
There’s a quiet whirring noise when we turn on the oven but the main fan at the back does not appear to be running. We have tried turning it off at the mains
We have reset the clock.
I was going to go gung-ho and replace the thermostat but when I turn the temperature dial I can hear it click so I think that means it’s working? (though this is from one youtube video I saw).Any advice on the next step is valued as I do not have the money for a replacement oven at this time!!

first make sure the clock is in manual mode
there are 2 plastic coupling pieces between the knobs and the switches and these break so switch cannot move
check the multibank switch
there is also an overheat statDave

Sorry Dave,
I pretty much didn’t understand any of that but am so appreciative to you for getting back to me. Would you mind dumbing it down for me, please?

“first make sure the clock is in manual mode is this just not flashing?” some clock will go in to manual mode when you reset them some wont. look to see if there is the word auto or an A in the display if yes the oven still wont function check your owners manual
“there are 2 plastic coupling pieces between the knobs and the switches and these break so switch cannot move “
turn the knob and watch the red switch on the left. make sure the switch moves as you turn the knob if yes its okif yes to the above its probably down to one of 2 things
1 the big red switch on the left has a failed contact
2 there is a safety thermostat that stop the oven if it gets too hot. it will be a small round unit with 2 wire on it screwed to the top or the back of the ovenif clock and couplings ok my bet is on the big switch but i cant be certain. if you remove it and turn it over you may see a burnt out contact
