ParticipantIm so annoyed – i live in a shared house and we all 8 of us use a small beko washer, for months now it has been tearing/nicking clothes such as socks, light sports tops, my silky duvet cover but jeans come out ok
ive tried different settings and speeds 800-1200 and result is the same
another tenant reported the same issue, the landlady does nothing about it or takes MONTHS to respond
can anyone tell me what this could be?

Hi
There are quite a few reasons as to why this happens, most are consumer related while some are mechanical. The most common causes are over loading, incorrect detergent use and not washing by the care label.
There is this article from our help section which will probably solve your problem.

Yes.
Answers can be found here, it’s a fair bit of reading…

It is almost certain not to be a fault.

The drum paddles or the stainless drum are damaged and best way to check that out is simply checking the surface areas closely with a torch. Or using a gloved hand to find the snag.

If it’s not doing that to all it’s not drum damage Martin as physical damage won’t discriminate, it’ll damage everything.
And if it is the clothing/load/program as usual then no two loads let alone two machines will be the same. Far too many variables in it.

The OP snadge has yet to tell us if the drum has been checked?
One of my tenants complained about the machine damaging clothes and I found a belt buckle stuck in the heater, the rusted pin pointing upwards. As clothes spun and the ensuing centrifugal forced (some not all) through the drum holes, they then got tears and holes in them.
My trillion billion candle power torch located the offending buckle. I won’t tell you what I said to my tenant after I yanked the heater out and showed her!!! 😮
The wonderful world of washers eh?
