error 3 comes up as a heater fault

Checked the heater, it’s working OK. Problem appears to be no water circulation while it’s heating. Circulation pump is not stuck but I’m unable to test the motor as it has two plugs with two wires each and contains a PCB, not just a case of applying 240v to it.

    Re: DW686 Er3

from the pictures i have found motor has 2 plugs

    plug 1 has 3 connections
    plug 2 has 2 connections

    plug 1 supplies power
plug 2 is data to the main board

i do not know what voltage the motor runs at so cannot confirm what voltage you will find at the connections
there are only 2 possibilities here either A the motor is not being turned on or B the motor is faulty

With the door shut and the heater working plug 1 on the circulation motor has permanent live on the brown wire and switched neutral on the purple wire. Plug 2 has brown and black wires which connect to the user control board. Does the motor not run because it is requiring a control input from the user control board? I’ve examined the user control board and all looks good. No real way of progressing this without buying either the motor or the control board.
